Santa Barbara Yacht Club Celebrating Healthcare Volunteers
This year’s Santa Barbara Yacht Club Charity Regatta was an undoubtedly
the most FUN of the past 13 years. It was so great to see the many new faces
as well as the seasoned veterans join in all the jubilation.
Thank you to all who supported the Charity Regatta by donating and sponsoring,
attending the event, giving your time, racing in the regatta,
or sharing your boat with spectators. This day was successful because of you!
This year’s Charity Regatta raised nearly $135,000 and cumulatively raising over
$1.3 million for Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care and their charitable mission!
This achievement is a testament to the successful partnership between
the Santa Barbara Yacht Club and Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care,
which has resulted in bringing renewed health
and comfort to thousands of people in Santa Barbara County.
This year’s Charity Regatta them was “Celebrating Healthcare Volunteers”
recognizing VNHC Volunteers are the prestigious Celebrity Skippers
Volunteers are incredibly vital to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care, and the patients
they serve, through their generous and selfless gifts of talent and time to
home healthcare, personal care, palliative care, hospice care, the Loan Closet,
and the “We Honor Veterans” program. Often, volunteering is an act of gratitude
for the compassionate and comprehensive home health or hospice services
that a loved one experienced with VNHC. Because of their personal experiences,
many volunteers are able to relate and connect on different levels,
whether it is for emotional, spiritual, or physical support, they help VNHC provide
services to all in the community, including those unable to pay.
