New Executive Director Named for VNHC Foundation
The Board of Directors of Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care (VNHC) is delighted to announce that Tamara Skov has been promoted to Executive Director of the Foundation effec tive January 1, 2008. Tamara has been with the Foundation as Vice President/Assistant Director since June 2006.
Tamara brings more than 15 years experience with non-profits, beginning in Georgia where she served as Vice President, Planning & Allocations for the United Way in Savannah before moving to Santa Barbara in 1990. In Santa Barbara, she worked at our local United Way for seven years overseeing all aspects of both the fund raising and the fund distribution activities. Tamara then worked with a Fortune 500 company managing an employee ethics program before returning to non-profits as Director of Development for Sansum Clinic in 2001. She brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of fund raising and non-profit management.

The Board is equally delighted to announce that the former Executive Director, Pat Snyder, will continue with the Foundation on a part-time basis as the Senior Gift Planning Director. In this capacity, Pat will continue her excellent work with planned giving and major gifts and she will complete the capital campaign for the new, expanded Serenity House.Please join us in welcoming Tamara as the new Foundation Executive Director and congratulating Pat on her superb service to the Foundation.
New Board Member - Al Rodriguez
Al Rodriguez was recently elected as a new member of the Board of Directors of Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care. Mr. Rodriguez is the Assistant Director for the Santa Barbara County Department of Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services, with specific management responsibility for the Division of Alcohol and Drug Programs since 1998.
He recently completed a five-year term on the Health and Human Services Committee of the Santa Barbara Foundation.
His career includes over 30 years of experience working across the State, with stints in the Bay Area, San Diego and rural Northern California as well as Santa Barbara. He brings to VNHC knowledge of other community approaches to health care and social services planning and implementation. He has received recognition for his work in faith communities and for his willingness to address the needs of Latinos and women impacted by substance use.
Mr. Rodriguez lives in Santa Barbara with his wife who works at UCSB and his daughter who is a student at UCSB.
