Planned Giving: wills & Bequests

 

The easiest planned gift is a simple bequest which names Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara as a beneficiary in your Will or Living Trust.  This is a revocable provision which can be changed at any time, but when realized can help to sustain the charitable mission of Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care for future generations.

A bequest can leave to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care a fixed dollar amount, a percentage, or the residual of your estate.  The amount you designate will pass to charity free of estate tax.  Suggested language for your attorney to use follows:

A.  Fixed Amount of Money or a Designated Property
"I give, devise, and bequeath to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care of Santa Barbara, located at 222 E. Canon Perdido in Santa Barbara, California, $_________.” (Or  describe the real or personal property, including exact location.)

B. Percentage of the Estate
"I give, devise and bequeath to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care of Santa Barbara, located at 222 E. Canon Perdido in Santa Barbara, California, ________% of my estate."

C. Residual Bequest
"All the residual of my estate, including real and personal property, I give, devise and bequeath to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care of Santa Barbara, located at 222 E. Canon Perdido in Santa Barbara, California".

If you would like your bequest to be applied to a particular program at Visiting Nurse & Hospice care, simply add that you would like your bequest to go to “Hospice, Serenity House, Loan Closet, etc.” at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care.
