Foundation Overview

What is the Foundation?

Established in 1993, the VNHC Foundation is an approved 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to cultivating friends and raising funds to support the programs and services of Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care.

Community contributions enable the Foundation to sustain Visiting Nurses’ charitable mission of providing home health and hospice care to ALL who need our services, including those unable to pay. No one is turned away.  Charitable subsidies are provided for the uninsured, the underinsured, and those who have exhausted their personal financial resources.

Charitable services include skilled nursing and rehabilitation, hospice care at home and at Serenity House, bath and respite care for seniors, and free loan of medical equipment through the Loan Closet.  Serenity House provides round-the-clock care in a residential setting to terminally ill patients, offering them comfort and dignity at the end of life.

The Foundation actively seeks contributions of cash or stock, memorial gifts, grants and bequests.  We conduct direct mail appeals, special fundraising events, and major gift campaigns. We also maintain a planned giving program with the advice of an expert committee of local estate planning professionals.
