7th Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon is May 9th

On Friday, May 9th Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care will host its 7th annual Mother’s Day luncheon at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort. In keeping with our tradition, one family will honor a living mother and another family will remember a mother who has passed away.

This year, Molly Dolle and her daughter, Marcy Dolle Bazzani, will remember their mother and grandmother, Molly O’Daniels Danielson. A well-known, Santa Barbara family will be honoring their matriarch but the announcement will be a surprise at the luncheon.

In addition to honoring and remembering our Mothers, this year’s event will also serve as the primary public celebration for Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care’s (VNHC) Centennial marking 100 years of caring for our community. The event has been moved to Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort to accommodate more guests as this event has sold out the last few years.

This year, VNHC is not the only one celebrating a Centennial. The first official Mother’s Day celebration was held on May 10, 1908 at the Andrew’s Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia. Both Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care and Mother’s Day were founded in 1908!

Please make plans now to join us in this wonderful celebration! The silent auction – one of the best in Santa Barbara – begins at 11:00 am and the luncheon is from noon to 1:30 p.m.
