We offer the following groups and programs throughout the year. Please see the Calendar of Events for our current offerings. Registration is required for all groups and workshops. For further information and to register, please call the Bereavement Coordinator at 690-6298.

All support groups and programs are offered to the community at no charge.

Newly Bereaved Group

A 4-week session for people in the early weeks and months of grief to provide support through sharing with others. The group provides educational and supportive information on the process of grieving.

Loss of a Parent

A 4-week session that focuses on the loss of a parent as an adult child. We offer education and support as we validate this unique relationship.

Loss of a Spouse or Partner

The focus of this group is to help you cope when you find yourself in the world without your partner. Some common topics explored are:

  • Who have you been? Who are you now?
  • How to take care of yourself
  • How to move forward into a new identity and purpose while maintaining your connection, memories and love of your deceased spouse or partner

bereavementsupportMen in Grief

Side-by-side, men can learn about cultural barriers they experience which affect the expression of grief.Through creative projects, this group is designed to assist men develop personal ways to express grief on their journey of healing.

Writing to Heal

Research has shown the benefits of expressive writing for physical and psychological well-being, self-discovery and personal growth. This 6-week workshop is designed for people who have experienced a previous loss. No writing or literary experience is necessary; all writing is done in a supportive, spontaneous and uplifting environment.

Coping with the Holidays

Holidays can be extremely difficult for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. This group explores some of the steps you can take to help you through this difficult time of year.

Annual Remembrance Service

The Ritual of the Roses and Candle Lighting Ceremony takes place each spring. This special community event honors the lives of all our loved ones who have died.Remembering our losses together creates the opportunity to find comfort and healing. Annual Angels Among Us, Remember the Love

The annual event is an opportunity to come together at the winter holidays to remember the loved ones we have lost. This tree lighting ceremony gives light to the memories of the loved ones and the celebration brings together those who are grieving to share in the ritual that provides support, expression of feeling and love.
